Aunt Traci!

Aunt Traci came for a short visit this weekend, and it was great seeing her!  It was only a few days, but we had a good visit with her.

March-a-thon!

They really cut down this year on the march-a-thon and only marched through Kroger, but it's always so fun to hear the whole band playing and walking around the store!

Nathan's first home game!

Nathan was very excited for his first home game tonight!  It started raining shortly before halftime, but thank goodness it stopped in time for his performance.  And, we got to see a beautiful rainbow too!

Madison came with Jheel to cheer Nathan on tonight!  We also had Gaga and Aunt Traci (from Tennessee!) here tonight, but no pictures of them.

Madison caught him as the band was walking back up the stands.  So cute she wanted a pic with him!  The flash is right in her eye, but I still love it.  Nathan did a great job tonight!

Max...

Max got groomed today, and Michael said he looked like a girl because they didn't cut his ears short enough.  So, Madison runs with that!  Necklace and hair accessories...

Fun at school...

Madison and her friends found a piano at Collin County!  She's obsessed with playing the piano, ever since they watched the dogs of some friends of ours (and they had a piano).  She loves going to school now, and as soon as class is over, they head to the piano room!

FOCUS!

Madison decided to attend the FOCUS game night tonight (Fellowship of Christian University Students), and she had a blast!  She met several new friends, and really enjoyed it.

First day of college!

Madison was in a rush this morning, but I made her stop for a couple of pictures!  She started at Collin County, to get her associates degree before starting cosmetology school (at least that's the plan as of today).  Can't believe she's not in highschool anymore!

It was pouring rain!  She had two friends in her class, so they met and walked in together.

Big helper!

Every time Madison goes grocery shopping with me, it's her joke to get ALL the bags at one time to be over helpful!  She makes me laugh!

Parent meeting/performance...

We had a parent meeting/performance tonight for band, and it was so weird seeing Nathan out there instead of Madison!

Parents always come out to the field and learn to march their kids' sets, and Madison's friend Riya didn't have her mom there, so Madison stepped in for her!  Apparently, Madison is a quick learner and was a natural at marching.  Haha!  It was also neat for her because she was able to say hi to her friends...everyone was beyond happy to see her!

Matias' dad sent this picture to me...apparently he told them not to smile, and Thorne was the only one who didn't!  I'm so happy that Nathan has his two best friends in band with him!

First day of highschool!

My baby is starting highschool today!  He was excited and a tiny bit nervous.  How he summed up his day for me:  "It wasn't the best first day, but it also wasn't the worst first day."  He doesn't get too detailed with information, but I did find out he has friends in every class but two!  No band rehearsal today, so his first class was track.  Not sure how this will work out with band, but we will see!

First day of 8th grade and first day of 9th grade....he's changing so much lately!

And of course, we have to get a pic with Max (who desperately needs to be groomed)!

A day with friends!

Band rehearsal is 7-11 a.m. and then 6-9 p.m. yesterday and today, so they have the afternoons free.  Nathan wanted to get together with Matias and Thorne to have fun before the official start of school!  They had pizza, went swimming and then to the movies to see Thor:  Love and Thunder.  They had the best day!

Unfortunately, since he's a boy and doesn't like taking pictures (especially with friends), this is what I got!

Afterwards, he was off to Meet the Teacher with his new section leader senior friend...without his mom tagging along.  How do they grow up so fast?  It's hard to believe my boy is in high school.  So proud of him.

Band camp!

At band camp, there are theme days every day.  Some kids go all out, some kids don't do it, but Nathan had a good time and participated every day!  I wish I would've taken pictures of him at home, because they stopped posting pictures after day two.  One day was floatie day, and he had crab floaties on his arms!  Ohwell, he survived the 2.5 weeks in the heat, and actually enjoyed it!  He really likes marching and is excited about this marching season.

Madison, the sweet big sister she is, picked him up one day and took him to lunch - his FAVORITE...Panda!

And another day, he went to Chick-fil-A with his section.  He's already making friends, and I'm so happy!

TWB - 2022/2023!  Can't believe Nathan is here now.  Ready or not...here we go for a fun-filled four year band ride!

Friends...

Madison is my social girl who loves being with friends.  Her heart is happiest when she's hanging out with others...doesn't matter what they are doing!

Birthday dinner!

Nathan was invited to Thorne's birthday celebration dinner at Olive Garden!  This was after band camp, so Nathan had face tattoos and a themed shirt for his section!  They went swimming and then headed to dinner.  He had a good time!
