Halloween....

Tonight, we went over to Nana and Papa's to go trick-or-treating with Chance!  Nathan was SO excited - he loves Halloween.  We have Bowser and Pennywise from IT.  Chance's costume was amazing (Taylor made it herself)!

They were a little scared to get candy from Jason.  He's a little freaky, plus scary music and strange noises were playing too!  They just got their candy and ran!

We always see chainsaw man every Halloween!  He's friendly though, so they're okay going up to him.

This is Nathan's favorite house.  He likes going under the "cat", which we realized was a bat tonight!

Madison went with her friends, Isabel and Maddy.  They were all fruits, and looked super cute!  I didn't drop her off (only picked them up), so I didn't get any pictures.  These are what the other parents sent me!

The weather cooperated, and stopped raining in time for trick-or-treating.  We were so happy!  Both kids had a great night and lots of fun!

Halloween fun!

Today, we had a Halloween party for the kids at someone's house from church.  The older ones signed up to help out with the younger ones.  The kids had a lot of fun running around, plus being able to have some sugar!

Both of my kids LOVE the little ones, and are so good with them!  By the way, Nathan is Bowser from Super Mario Bros, but he wouldn't wear his mask.  No surprise there!

This little girl wasn't in the mood for pictures, but I had to get one since she matched Madison!

This was hilarious trying to round up these little guys!  Forget trying to get them looking at the camera, I just wanted them to sit still and not cry!

After the party, we headed up to church for Bible Buddies.  We did the Pumpkin Gospel lesson and talked about God removing the junk inside of us and letting His light shine inside!

Lots of Halloween fun today, and we still have Halloween night!  Hoping it's not rainy and cold like the forecast shows.  We'll see!

Report card time...

I can't believe the first nine weeks is already over.  Only three more to go...please time, slow down!

We can't remember if Nathan has gotten the principal's award before (he might've gotten it in 2nd grade), but it's been a goal of his for awhile now.  He finally got it this nine weeks - all grades 95 and above!  He was so proud and so excited!

Madison did amazing as well.  She received all A's and one B (in her pre-AP Algebra 1 high-school level class)!  They say to add on 10 points to grades in this class - this is the equivalent to an 8th grade advanced class!  She has worked so hard this nine weeks - homework has been taking over her life, and she's done so well.  No complaining and lots of hard work!

I'm proud of both of my kids for trying so hard and being such good students!

Adventure Fun Run....

Nathan's school did a fundraiser this week, and it was a lot of fun!  They had music playing (blaring) every morning and afternoon at drop-off and pick-up, lessons every day on health, and they ended with a fun run today!  I didn't get a picture of the run because I was helping, but they ran around an obstacle course for 30 minutes and had a blast!

Who let the dogs out?!?

It's Watch Dog day!  Nathan was really excited to have daddy at school with him.  They had a lot of fun being goofy together!  I love that Nathan still gets excited about these days - melts my heart to see them have so much fun together.

Dallas Zoo...

Gaga's financial planning company treated their clients to a family day at the zoo!  We had free parking, a buffet lunch, and a whole day at the zoo.  We had a good time, despite the heat!

We rode the monorail too!

Being here brought so many memories back....I have several different pictures of the kids sitting on this butterfly when they were little!

Camo belt!

Nathan is an official camo belt now!  Testing was tonight, and he did great.

Sparring time!

Tomorrow night is belt testing, and Nathan will get his camo belt!  He's so ready and excited to do something different, since orange and yellow belt were the same exact thing.  We went ahead and bought his sparring gear, and he couldn't wait to try it on.  After twenty minutes of confusion and laughter, we finally got everything on.  He was like the kid in A Christmas Story, so much on that he could barely move!  He won't get hurt in karate, that's for sure.  He has foot pads, shin pads, a chest protector, hand gear, head gear, a face mask and a mouth piece!  I'm hoping it gets a little easier to get all this on - it'll take the entire class time if it's anything like we experienced at home!  He's ready though - sparring, here we come.

Pumpkins and friends!

Today, we had a Kingdom Kids event, and while not many kids showed up, we still had an interesting time!  After painting pumpkins, Nathan and Graysen cooled off by the fan...these boys will take any opportunity to play ball!

After the pumpkins dried, we headed over to a nearby nursing home to hand-deliver the pumpkins.  It was a little awkward for the kids (and adults), but they did so good!  Most of the residents turned down the pumpkins, one lady started eating hers, and some just stared and said nothing.  We had some laughs afterwards, but I really think they did a great thing.

Afterwards, we brought home Taylor, Kinsey and Graysen for the afternoon.  The boys played chess and jumped on the trampoline all afternoon, while the girls played with squishies and did the makeup challenge!

Madison got this car when she was two years old, and I haven't been able to part with it just yet.  It still gets use with these kids!

It was a fun afternoon, and the kids had a great time!
