Bible Study...

My sweet Madison wrote a Bible study all on her own, and I was really impressed!  She was so proud, and so excited to do it together.  It was on overcoming anger.

Here's what she wrote:
______________________

ANGER

Read Proverbs 15:1-2

In this verse, it talks about a person that is good and one that is angry.  If you just ignore the situation between you and your sister or brother, then you won't get in trouble.  Why?  So then your brother or sister will get in trouble.

Read James 1:19-20

This verse talks about what anger will cause and what no anger will cause.  Now, I want you to make a skit showing what will happen if you are angry and then what will happen if you choose no anger.

Present skit

Read Ephesians 4:26-27

This verse talks about why you should and how you should stay away from anger.

Play game (solve the problem).

Questions:
1.  Name 3 things you can kick when you're angry.
2.  What's the wisest thing to do when your brother takes $100 from you?

Closing Prayer

I love that she's thinking about and researching her Bible so much.  Melts my heart and makes me so happy!

Paradise...

Madison has always loved writing, but she's not quite obsessed with it as she used to be.  But lately, she said she's gotten into it again and loves to write.  Today, she wrote a little imagery story, and I was pretty impressed!

PARADISE

As I walk along the sand, little seashells sparkle in the distance.  There is nothing more beautiful than the view of the ocean.  Dolphins are jumping out of the water as waves crash.  The beach is so peaceful that you can sleep there.  I'd dream of walking along the beach with my friend, smiling the whole way.  It's almost impossible to frown.  People don't have to waste their breath saying, "Turn that frown upside down!"  I lean my head back against the chair feeling the warm sun and smelling the sunscreen put on an hour ago.  When I walk on the edge of the water, I can feel the ripples of water splashing against my toes.  The sunset looks like a rainbow just settled in different colors.  The only thing that would make this trip better would be a walk on the beach with Jesus at sunset.

Friendship...

Last night, Michael led a devotional for our youth group on 'Friendship'.  He did such a great job, and the kids had a great time.  We ate dinner, had the devo, made a poster about friendship, and played!  We have such a great group of kids!

They learned all about friendship, and that Jesus is the best friend we'll ever have.  They did an activity to see how you need love, forgiveness and Jesus to stick together!  Michael did an awesome job, and I'm so proud of him!

Blue & Gold Ceremony...

Madison's troop leader (who is also the assistant leader for our cup scout pack) needed some help during the Cub Scout Blue & Gold Ceremony tonight.  A few of Madison's Girl Scout troop friends volunteered to help.  Madison was a greeter, and also helped serve food.  I really can't believe she's old enough for these kinds of tasks now!

Most of Nathan's den - during dinner.

It's a good thing Madison had to help, because we almost didn't come tonight.  We really thought it was just for the older boys moving up to Webelos, but all the dens moved up tonight!

No longer a Wolf...now a Bear!  This year has flown by so fast, I almost can't believe it.

Photo booth fun.  I would love to have some of Madison and Nathan, but we just forgot!

It was a nice night....dinner, desserts, awards and friends.  And I was so proud of the wonderful job Madison did helping out!

Good Work...

Nathan was chosen to receive a "Good Work" award this nine weeks!  Proud of my little guy.

Nathan thinks it's pretty uncool for your mom to come over and take a picture of you holding your award!

Easter 2015...

The kids woke up to find baskets from the Easter Bunny!

They found a LOT of eggs!

My sweet babies ready for church.  It's been warm and sunny for over a week now, but on Easter, it's COLD and raining!  Madison toughed it out though, and they both looked so sweet!

After church, we headed over to Nana and Papa's for lunch.

The kids wanted to get a little bit more comfortable before opening presents...Spiderman is Easter-ish, right?  Those baskets were almost as big as them!

Another egg hunt, inside because it was raining today!

We came home and painted crosses...

And we did our Resurrection eggs.  This was the first year they took over and read the whole thing by themselves!

Jesus has risen!  The best part of Easter, in my opinion.  So thankful for the gift Jesus gave to us, and I pray that I teach this to my children every day....not just on Easter.

Easter with Gaga and Doo...

We went over and celebrated with Gaga and Doo today.  The kids got presents, we played games, had an Easter egg hunt, and ate dinner.  It was a nice afternoon with great weather too!

We did the egg scavenger hunt again this year...they each had to find 13 specific eggs.  Cuts out fighting AND makes it last longer!

They each got to find a "golden egg" with money in it!

The first of many egg hunts to come...these two love finding eggs (even once they're empty, they'll re-hide them)!

Good Friday....

On Good Friday, our tradition is to go see the Easter Bunny!  We had zero wait time...walked right in and took a quick picture!  The kids said the Easter Bunny is a little freaky because he doesn't talk, but they were brave enough to sit on his lap and smile.  :)

The "official" picture....my babies sure are getting big!
