First time to vote!

Now that Madison is 18, she voted for the first time today!  We know the guy running for mayor of Sachse, so we went out today and all voted for him.  Can't believe she's an adult now!

Last cross country meet...

Nathan got 6th place (out of 69 8th grade boys) - with a time of 12:58:21 for 2.2 miles!  He has decided that he's not crazy about cross country and will focus on only track next year.

New buddy at work!

Madison is so beyond excited that Makenna is now working at her Chick-fil-A!  She got to train her tonight, and she's really happy that they can work together now.

LTC banquet...

Last LTC banquet EVER for Madison.  Hard to believe that it's over for her.  She's done LTC for 9 years and I'm so proud of her!

Both kids did Bible Bowl and Service Challenge this year.  I'm proud of both of them for all the work they put into LTC each year...it's not an easy thing to accomplish with everything else going on in their lives (school, band, etc.).  They do learn a lot though, and they did a great job!

Friends....and fire ants!

We had Thorne over yesterday to spend the day and night because his mom was out of town, and they had a great time!

Recently, his mom and I were joking about getting their pics in the bluebonnets because they are older and can't stand pictures, so I BEGGED them to let me take some as a joke!  They were doing so great cooperating and being silly, until Nathan got attacked by fire ants ALL DOWN HIS LEG.  Thank goodness it didn't happen to both boys - I would've felt really bad!  But his mom sure did get a kick out of these.

Then, Matias came over and they saw The Lost City...they really enjoyed it!

It was a fun weekend for Nathan and he had lots of friend time!

Cross Country...

Well, they have really been slacking on getting times out to athletes.  We don't know the time he made, but we do know he got 5th place!

Retrocade...

Thorne invited Nathan to a place called Retrocade tonight and they had a great time.  Thorne's mom sent me these pictures (of course Nathan is blinking in one), but he said it was really fun!

Easter 2022....

Not many pictures today!  We went to church, and the kids had fun decorating their own stained glass cookies over at Gaga's.  The Easter Bunny even filled their baskets (NOT with Max...that was Madison's great photography skills)!  We also went through our Resurrection Eggs and discussed the true meaning of Easter.  We are thankful for Jesus and what He did for us!

Bible Bowl!

Tonight was Bible Bowl - Madison's last time EVER to attend the convention!  This year the theme was The Promise over the book of Genesis, which was a lot harder because it's such a long book and you can't study as detailed as you would with a smaller book of the Bible.  They had a great time though!  They didn't do as well as previous years, but I'm proud of them for doing this because it is a lot of extra work (along with school - and working for Madison)!

We had to re-create this picture!  Pretty sure this was back in 2019...three years ago.  They were SO little!

Cross Country...

The cross country meet was in Allen today, and Nathan said it was much harder than Wylie with all the hills and trails!  We aren't 100% sure, but we think it's the same distance as before...2.2 miles.  He came in 7th place (2nd for Cooper) with a time of 12:30.  So if it's the same distance, he definitely improved his speed!  Last week he had a time of 13:08.  He doesn't love cross country, but I'm proud of him!

District track meet!

We thought the meet might get cancelled again, but thank goodness the rain held off!  Nathan did a great job tonight, but was a little confused how everyone got so much faster!

In his 400m individual run, he got 2nd place with a time of 55.61!

In the 4x400 relay, they got 4th place with a time of 3.52.52.  Last meet they got 3.56.92, so they improved quite a bit!  He was bummed that everyone seemed to be quicker this meet.

Track season is officially over.  A few weeks of cross country, and then Nathan will be depressed that running (at least competitive) is over!

Bible Bowl!

Another year of Bible Bowl (and Madison's last year EVER) is almost over!  They had a practice and celebration last night - with jeopardy style practice, pizza for dinner, and then they went bowling until 12:30am!

I told Madison that I was counting on her for pictures, especially during bowling.  She sent me one picture of her and Makenna, and when I asked where Nathan's pic was (after she left) she said, "OH, I didn't know you wanted me to get one of him too...you should've told me!"  Haha.  At least she took one of the both of them at practice.  Goofy girl.  They had a fun time though!  Just one more week until the convention.  I can't believe it's her last time....feels like yesterday that we started doing this!

Cross Country...

Nathan has never done cross country before, so this was all new to him!  Track was supposed to be over by now, but the district meet was rained out, so he has both going on at one time.  Nathan got 3rd place overall, and 1st place for Cooper today, out of 68 kids total!  He ran 2.2 miles in 13.08 minutes.  He said it was much harder because of the uneven ground and hills, but he did an amazing job!  So proud of him.
