Fishing...

We decided to get out and enjoy this pretty weather today for some fishing!

Max wasn't sure what to think about the fish.  He was afraid at first, but then warmed up once he realized he was bigger!

Adventure Camp...

In 5th grade, they have an Adventure Camp every year for 2 nights and 2 days.  We signed up a long time ago, with dad as a chaperone!  Well, the weekend before camp, Nathan comes down with a virus and isn't feeling the best on Wednesday when they leave!  We debated forever about sending him, but since dad would be with him, we thought it would be ok.  Despite rainy weather, extreme muddiness, obnoxious/loud kids, no sleep, and Nathan feeling under the weather....they still had some laughs together!  It wasn't an ideal or perfect camp, but they enjoyed being together and having some time to bond.  Nathan has a pretty good dad to sacrifice cleanliness (he's not a camper at all) to be with him!  The did archery, a rock climbing wall, fishing, canoeing,  playing in mud/puddles, and lots of free time.

He made it to the top!

Canoing was his favorite activity...he loved it!

Easter...

Today, we made resurrection rolls, went to church, and then headed over to Nana and Papa's house for lunch.  Everyone was there this year....Chance and his family, and even Gaga!

We had a great time together, even though Nathan wasn't feeling good.  We ended up taking him to the dr., so after all was said and done, we weren't as busy as we would've been on a normal Easter (we missed LTC awards).  But it was a good day, and we ended it with our resurrection eggs and good conversation about Jesus and what He did for us!

LTC - Bible Bowl!

Bible Bowl is a lot of work and commitment every year, but it's really good for the kids and they love the bonding time with friends!  Especially the night of the convention!  This year was on the book of John and the theme was "No Greater Love".  They both did a good job, even with our busy months of dealing with band, school, homework, Nana's cancer, etc.  We don't know what they scored just yet, but they learned a lot this past several months, and that is all that matters to me!

We had a few friends over for lunch and studying, and then we all headed down to the Hyatt Regency in Dallas!

I'm proud of both kids!  Until next year....

UIL

Madison's band did AMAZING today (so I hear)!  They received a division 1 for their performance, and the judges said they were the best non-varsity band they had ever heard.  They really are pretty wonderful!

Max...

Dogs are a lot of work, and they take a lot of time and money....but when you look at this face!  Can he be any cuter?
