Firestation party!

Kyle had his birthday party at the firestation, so Nathan and I headed up there to have some fun! Nathan was EXHAUSTED, so he wasn't really himself, but I think he still had a good time! Although, mid-party, he kept asking me to go home and go to sleep...so I know he was tired!

Notice he's still holding his cupcake we brought (egg-free)....he wouldn't let go of it!

With the birthday boy!

He sure does love the attention from older girls!

More interested in the butterfly they saw on the window than what the fireman was talking about!

There's just something about little boys and fire trucks that is so adorable. I wish Nathan wasn't so tired, but it was still fun!

Our first swim of the summer!

We always look forward to this particular day each year! The kids talk about going swimming months before it's actually time, so when that day arrives, we are all so excited! The kids weren't in the mood for a lot of pictures, plus I wanted to enjoy the little time we had at the pool, so I didn't get many pictures of them! I guess there will be more days to come....many more fun summer days we will share as a family!

Nathan was SO excited to be in the water. He's doing so much better this year with his little aqua swim float - which means he's much more independant - which means he is HAPPY! Although, I never managed to get a picture of him in the big pool!

Madison picked up right where she left off from last summer! She was a little iffy the first five minutes, but once she tried it again, she was swimming everywhere!

Nathan spent most of his time jumping in the pool...getting out...jumping in....getting out....etc. This kid can seriously burn off some energy!

Well, summer is officially here! A few more days of school and I think we'll be spending a lot of our time at the pool! I'm sad to leave Madison's kindergarten teacher, but I'm very excited to have my baby girl back home for a couple of months!

Going Bonkers!

We had free admission to Going Bonkers in Lewisville today, so we went with Tracie and Kyle and had a blast! This place is SO amazing and SO massive! It will keep the kids busy for hours...literally. If only I had socks with me, I would've gone up there too! There is a ton to climb, slides, etc. We are definitely going back this summer!

Trying to get a picture before they play!
What? Who doesn't lift up their shirt and suck in their tummy to show their ribs for a picture??

They even have an arcade! Nathan thought the motorcycle was pretty cool!

Done playing...I think today was a success!

Fun at the park!

There are only so many more days where we can go to the park and not completely melt from the heat! So we had some fun with Jana and Andrew today at the park.

Waiting on Andrew...he thought it was pretty neat that he got to sit up front!

Making "music"...

My little climber...he made it all the way up this with no help!

I'm hoping now that winter/sick season is over, we can spend more time playing with friends! Nathan and Andrew are so much alike, and it's so cute seeing them together. Last night while we were brushing teeth, Nathan said, "Andew is nice." Such sweet boys!

Carnival fun!

Our church had a victory celebration (for the upcoming new building) tonight, and we all had a lot of fun! The kids got to play games, bounce, get their faces painted, and see a magician too.

Even though we are still pretty new to this church and don't know everyone all that well, we had a great time. Just seeing the youth group run this carnival, and seeing how this church is like a family...it really made us stop and think, and realize that this is what we want for our kids. Having a smaller church home is what our family needs...and I pray that our kids make some life-long friends here.

Big boy!!!

Well, since he is potty trained now, we decided it was time to get a big boy bed for Nathan (plus the fact that he can climb out of his crib now). I've been putting this off because I just wasn't ready to be fighting him on naps and bedtime. BUT, it turns out that he loves his new bed and hopefully it won't be an issue!

Here he is helping daddy put it together (ie playing in it!)...

My mom and I looked forever for a comforter set to match his walls (I did NOT want to repaint after all the work we did on those stripes!). And we finally found this...it's even cuter in real life!

Ready for bed!

And he crashes...

He woke up very happy....and feeling like a BIG boy!

And to top it off, he slept ALL night (until 9:00 this morning) with NO PACIFIERS!!!! He knew that once he got his big boy bed, that he would be an official big boy. This morning, he said, "Papires are for babies....I big boy!!!" I'm SO proud. In three weeks, this sweet boy has potty trained, gotten a big boy bed, AND given up his pacifiers. I'm happy, but that's a lot of growing up in a short amount of time....I no longer have a baby/toddler. He's a big kid now! Like I said before, it's bittersweet.
